October - Trick earns register of meritWe are overjoyed to announce that our most adored boy Trick, officially known as Land’s End Silly Seneca Shenanigans at Trout Creek has earned his distinguished ROM (Register Of Merit) title today. He has sired 10 AKC Champions to date, and has 5 more offspring who will most likely earn their Championships in the next year. He is first and foremost a wonderful representative of the breed in temperament and type. I am so thankful to Chloe and Phreddie of Land’s End GSMD, his breeders, for entrusting such a special puppy to me. Thank you to all the bitch owners who bred to Trick and to their commitment for excellence. We are grateful for all you do to ensure his puppies have the best lives. I chose this picture as it is exactly who he is.... a wonderful friend who I could not dream of replacing. We love you Trick.

July - South Bend, Indiana
The Seneca crew had a wonderful time in South Bend, IN! So excited to announce that Orla (Recon x Zippo) earned her championship! A heartfelt thank you to her family, Clint & Mary Spaar, for allowing her to come stay with us these last few months - she has been nothing but a pure delight and we'll miss her dearly when she goes back home to New Hampshire. In other news, our young boy Shimmy (Oliver x Rue) blew it out of the park and earned two major wins to finish his championship! Chief (Seuss x Zippo) also came out the first time as a special and held his own going Select Dog three of four days picking up three Grand Championship major and defeating specials each day.
June - Lake Shore Kennel Club
What a gorgeous weekend to appreciate Indiana! We had a perfect weekend for a dog show in darling Crown Point at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Marcy and I also were able to enjoy an afternoon at the awesome Fair Oaks Dairy with Sloane, Roger (who went RWD to the major Saturday) and Shimmy. Sloane earned another point toward her Ch., Shimmy earned 2-3pt dog majors and Ragnar (Crown Swissies) went Reserve Winners Dog Sunday. Congrats to Mike and Amber (Crown Swissies). Their girl Freya showed terrific today. Freya was BOB and BOW getting the crossover major she so deserved which is so often not awarded to girls in our breed for whatever bizarre reason. The food at Fair Oaks alone is worth the trip to Crown Point!
May - National Specialty
The 2017 National Specialty has come to a close and I had the great honor of judging the GSMDCA National Specialty sweepstakes - THANK YOU to everyone who brought out their puppies and veterans to exhibit to me! Sweepstakes has always held a special place for me, as the first time I took my girl Kayak to the National in 2007 she went Best in Sweepstakes! This year some of her contemporaries were in my ring as veterans which was very special. At the awards banquet our sweet girl Zippo was recognized for earning her Register of Merit during 2016. As breeder this title is extra rewarding...she is from Seneca's very first bred litter and she follows rightfully so in her mother Kayak's footsteps. Seneca kids from Indiana (Castle), Minnesota (Sloane), Virginia (Teddy), New Hampshire (Orla & Dove), and Massachusetts (Helix & Vida) represented our kennel and I couldn't be more proud of the dogs and their owners! Great job to everyone and congratulations to all the winners on their accomplishments. As always, many thanks go to Debbie Fields for capturing the week with her pictures and for the use them!
ORLAOrla was the real shining start of the 2017 National Specialty along side her owner Mary!
