​My history in Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs

Pursuing the equestrian sport of dressage for most of my life, showing, breeding and competing are my passions. My love for show horses transferred to the dog sports in 2005/2006 when I bought my foundation bitch from Lisa Simonsen's Painted Mountain Ranch in Shelton, Washington. Like my dressage horses, I just love a beautiful, well bred, good moving, & sound dog. As children Michael and I had various purebreds and a few mixed breeds too. Soon into my college days at Purdue University,  I was introduced to my first Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and I knew, somehow someway, I would have to share my life with a swissy. In 2006 I brought home my first swissy girl Ch. Painted Mtn. Kascade Rapids, TT ROM fondly known as Kayak. Kayak and I have shared wonderful and exciting experiences together. Kayak has been everything and more than a person can ask for in a companion and a foundation bitch. The past 13.5 years have been full of wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. Kayak blessed us with 4 lovely litters, earned her Register of Merit, and is living her best senior dog life on our couch.  Kayak has left quite the legacy for generations. Currently we have 5 generations of our own breeding in our home. Thanks are especially due to my friend & mentor Lisa. Lisa gave me the best start with the girls I purchased from her. To this day she continues to invest in my success and support my goals. That is something so special.

​I am currently a member of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America. I have previously served two terms as the Second Vice President for the GSMDCA Board of Directors (2011-2014), was a member of the GSMDCA Health Committee for three terms (2009-2014) and acted as Show Chair for the 2013 National Specialty held at Purina Farms in Missouri. 

I am thankful to have many wonderful homes which have provided my swissy babies with the best lives! 

My Greater Swiss definitely keep me very busy. But, they are second only to my full service boarding kennel. The Swissies are lucky to have an ever changing dog friend group at the kennel to keep them enriched and stimulated. Seneca Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs is located in the heart of the Midwest in Northern Indiana. We are easily accessible from the Indianapolis and Chicago airports and for those wishing to drive Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Tennessee can all be reached in a days drive. I have wonderful families representing Seneca all over the country in the Pacific Northwest, California, the Eastern Seaboard, and Texas, however, most of my homes are local to the region. I typically require that I meet all potential new homes with very few exceptions and I will not ship a puppy. As always, please free to contact me with any questions you may have.
